Landstory was responsible for preparing a conceptual design for a new 130 room state-of-the art, full-service hospital located in Crown Point Indiana.
Overall design included a chapel garden, dining courtyard and outdoor seating areas in garden settings consisting of a combination of native plantings and prairie grasses harkening back to the pure native landscape that once existed in this region. Excess excavation on site allowed for the creation of mounding, in support of the naturalized character while screening from the adjacent interstate, surrounding roadways and parking lots.
Vast communities of native grasses, forbs and wildflowers will inhabit the open areas and remaining undeveloped property, benefitting the environment while reducing operational and maintenance costs.
