Landstory’s involvement included assisting the consulting engineer with streetscape improvements for the emerging Hanie’s Corner Arts District at the juncture of four National Register Historic Districts in Evansville, Indiana.

The project served to set a local precedent for combining green infrastructure,
neighborhood economic revitalization and public art.

Key urban design features included a traffic roundabout, public art. landscape medians with rain gardens for surface stormwater and filtration and pervious unit paving.

Primary design elements included decorative lighting, street trees, rain gardens, decorative pavements and reuse of existing brick unit pavers.
